A Senior SEO Specialist is primarily responsible for developing and executing comprehensive SEO strategies to improve a website's organic search ranking on major engines like Google and Bing, including in-depth keyword research, content optimization, technical SEO audits, performance monitoring, and reporting on key metrics to drive significant organic traffic and achieve business goals; they often lead and mentor junior SEO team members as well. 
 

What you will do: 

Strategic Planning 

• Defining overarching SEO strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Conducting competitive analysis to identify opportunities.
• Developing and managing a content calendar for SEO-focused content creation.  

Keyword Research and Optimization 

• Performing extensive keyword research to identify high-volume, relevant search terms. 
• Optimizing website content (title tags, meta descriptions, headings) for targeted keywords. 
• Analyzing keyword performance and making adjustments as needed. 

Technical SEO 

• Performing website audits to identify and address technical issues impacting search engine crawling and indexing  
• Optimizing website structure and navigation for better user experience  
• Implementing sitemaps and robots.txt files  

Content Creation and Management 

• Collaborating with content teams to create high-quality, SEO-optimized content  
• Analyzing content performance and identifying opportunities for improvement  
• Implementing content strategies to drive organic traffic and conversions  

Performance Monitoring and Reporting 

• Tracking key SEO metrics (organic search traffic, rankings, click-through rates, conversion rates)  
• Developing comprehensive SEO reports to present insights and demonstrate ROI to stakeholders  
• Identifying trends and actionable insights from data analysis  

Team Leadership and Mentorship 

• Guiding and mentoring junior SEO specialists on best practices and techniques  
• Sharing knowledge and expertise within the SEO team 

• Education: A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. 
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in a leadership role.  
• Technical Skills: Understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic website architecture.  
• SEO Tools Proficiency: Expertise in using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO, BrightEdge, and SpyFu. 
• Keyword Research: Strong ability to identify relevant keywords, analyze search volume, and implement effective keyword strategies.  
• On-Page Optimization: Deep understanding of on-page SEO factors and how to optimize website content for search engines.  
• Technical SEO: Knowledge of technical SEO issues like site structure, crawl errors, and page speed optimization.  
• Link Building: Proven experience in developing and executing successful link building strategies.  
• Content Strategy: Ability to collaborate with content teams to create high-quality content that aligns with SEO goals.  
• Data Analysis: Skillful interpretation of SEO data to identify trends, measure performance, and make informed decisions.  
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively present SEO findings and strategies to stakeholders.  
• Staying Updated: Ability to keep up with the latest search engine algorithm updates and industry trends.
